Ghâncaran: Journal of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Vol. 8 No. 1 (2026), presents 18 scholarly articles that explore diverse perspectives and contemporary developments in linguistics, literature, language education, and literary studies. This issue brings together research on critical ecolinguistics and environmental discourse, digital literature and popular culture, masculinity and gender representation, feminist literary criticism, ecofeminism, and the representation of women in literary and cinematic works. It also addresses literary literacy, reading strategies in the digital era, Indonesian vocabulary acquisition among international learners, pragmatic phenomena in everyday communication and social media, and the development of Indonesian language learning through pedagogical innovation and digital assessment. Further contributions examine the application of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in Indonesian for Speakers of Other Languages (BIPA), scientometric trends in semantic research, lexical richness, and the relationship between happiness, social fantasy, and Indonesian fiction. By bringing together theoretical inquiry, empirical investigation, and educational innovation, this issue highlights the dynamic relationship between language, literature, culture, and society. Overall, Vol. 8 No. 1 reaffirms Ghâncaran’s commitment to advancing scholarly dialogue, promoting interdisciplinary research, and contributing to the development of Indonesian language and literature education in response to contemporary academic and sociocultural challenges.
