Authorship Criteria & Contributions
- Eligibility for Authorship
Authorship in Iqtishadia: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah is restricted to individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and accept full accountability for its contents. In accordance with the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, all listed authors must satisfy all four of the following criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of empirical/literary data;
- Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content (particularly in strengthening theoretical frameworks, Islamic economic arguments, or empirical models);
- Final approval of the version to be published;
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
- Non-Author Contributors & Acknowledgments
Individuals who contributed to the study or manuscript preparation but do not meet all four criteria above must not be listed as co-authors. Their support—such as providing research funding, institutional assistance, field data collection help, language editing, or general administrative supervision—should be explicitly acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, provided they have granted written permission to be named.
- Author Roles (CRediT Taxonomy)
To promote transparency in research attribution, Iqtishadia requires authors to explicitly declare their specific contributions upon submission using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT). The role of each author should be summarized in a dedicated section before the references.
The standard CRediT roles include:

- Ghost Authorship: Omitting individuals who made substantial intellectual contributions to the research or drafting process.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools Assistance: Generative AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs)(such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude) do not qualify for authorship, as they cannot take ethical or legal responsibility for the validity, accuracy, and integrity of the work.
