Journal History

  1. Al-Ihkam journal is published by the Sharia Department of STAIN Pamekasan. It was first published in 2006 based on the Decree of the Chairman of STAIN Pamekasan Number: Sti.21.3/PP.00.9/106/06/2006.
  2. Since 2014, the publication has been in collaboration with The Islamic Law Researcher Association (APHI).
  3. Starting from Volume 10, 1 2015, the journal is accessible online at http://ejournal.stainpamekasan.ac.id/index.php/alihkam/index. At this stage, Al-Ihkam also became a Crossref member; therefore, all articles published by Al-Ihkam will have a unique DOI number.
  4. Since 2015, the journal has been awarded an accreditation "B" based on the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia decree number 12 /M/Kp/II/2015 about the results of scientific journals Accreditation Period II 2014 dated 11 February 2015 and valid until 11 February 2020.
  5. Starting from Volume 11, Number 1, 2016 (11 July 2016), it added The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
  6. Starting from Volume 13, Number 1, 2018, the publisher institution is changed to the Faculty of Shariah, State Islamic Institute of Madura.
  7. Starting with Volume 14, Number 1, 2019, the Sirahan title is added to the Al-Ihkam Journal template.
  8. Starting from Volume 14, Number 1, 2019, the journal logo has been changed to a colorful and more interesting one.
  9. Starting from Volume 14, Number 1, 2019, the journal publishes its articles in either English or Arabic languages.
  10. Starting from Volume 14 No. 1 2019, the journal’s URL has moved from http://ejournal.stainpamekasan.ac.id/index.php/alihkam/index to http://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alihkam/index
  11. The journal has been accredited (SINTA 2) by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, decree (SK Dirjen Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi) number 30/E/KPT/2019.
  12. The journal was awarded the First Awardee of the Constitution Prize for the Scientific Journal of Law and the National Constitution 2019 by the Indonesian Constitutional Court.
  13. Since February 2021, the journal has upgraded its online publication platform to OJS-3, using the same URL.
  14. Since August 2021, the journal has been accredited (SINTA 1)
  15. Since August 2021, the journal has been indexed in Scopus
  16. Since 2023, the journal has been classified as Q1 in 2 SJR subject areas.
  17. Since 2024, the journal has been classified as Q1 in 4 SJR subject areas.
  18. Since October 2024, the journal has received a certificate from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology regarding the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals Indexed in International Reputable Databases for Period I 2024 (Decree No. 169/E/KPT/2024).
  19. Since 2025, the journal has been classified as Q1 in 6 SJR subject areas.
  20. Starting from Volume 20, Number 1 (2025), the Acknowledgment section and Self-Assessment Checklist were added to the Al-Ihkam Journal template.
  21. Starting with Volume 20, Number 1 (2025), the publishing institution changed to the Faculty of Shariah, State Islamic University of Madura, in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 52 of 2025 on the establishment of UIN Madura.
  22. Since March 2026, the journal has been classified as Q1 in 5 SJR subject areas.
  23. Starting from Volume 21, Number 1 (2026), the Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted Technologies was added to the Al-Ihkam Journal template.
  24. Since May 2026, the journal URL has moved to a new website, from http://ejournal.iainmadura.ac.id/index.php/alihkam/index to https://ejournal.uinmadura.ac.id/index.php/alihkam
  25. Since May 2026, the Self-Assessment Checklist has been separated from the Author’s Agreement and Statement Form.
  26. Since May 2026, Editorial Workflow and more detailed original Author Guidelines have been added to Al-Ihkam Journal.
