Jurnal Alibbaa’ invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original manuscripts for the Special Issue Vol. 1 to be published in April 2026, focusing on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Arabic language education.

🧠 Special Issue Rationale

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly reshaped language education, including the teaching and learning of Arabic. AI is no longer merely a technological tool, but a transformative force influencing pedagogical strategies, learning media, assessment practices, and the broader learning ecosystem involving teachers, learners, and educational institutions.

This Special Issue aims to provide an academic platform for critical, empirical, and reflective discussions on how AI is conceptualized, implemented, and evaluated within Arabic language education across diverse educational contexts.

Artificial Intelligence in Arabic Language Education

All submitted manuscripts must explicitly and substantively address AI as the main focus of analysis, not merely as background or supplementary technology.

Sub-Scope A | AI in Arabic Language Pedagogy

  • AI-assisted teaching strategies and instructional design

  • AI-based assessment and feedback in Arabic language learning

  • The evolving role of Arabic language teachers in the AI era

  • AI applications in teaching Arabic language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing)

Sub-Scope B | AI-Based Media and Learning Systems

  • Chatbots, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent tutoring systems for Arabic learning

  • AI-powered mobile learning, LMS, and digital platforms

  • Development and evaluation of AI-based learning media

  • Adaptive and personalized Arabic language learning systems

Sub-Scope C | Learners, Ethics, and AI Learning Ecology

  • Learners’ motivation, engagement, and experiences with AI-supported learning

  • AI literacy of Arabic language teachers and learners

  • Ethical issues, bias, and challenges of AI in Arabic education

  • AI integration in Islamic educational institutions (schools, madrasahs, pesantren, universities)

📝 Types of Manuscripts Accepted

  • Empirical research (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods)

  • Research and development (R&D) studies

  • Conceptual or theoretical papers

⚠️ Terms and Conditions

  1. Thematic Relevance (Mandatory)

    • Manuscripts must be thematically aligned with the Special Issue theme.

    • AI may function as a primary focus, analytical lens, or significant pedagogical or technological component, and its relevance should be reasonably reflected in the title, research objectives, and discussion..

    • Manuscripts in which the connection to AI is underdeveloped may be returned to authors for thematic clarification or revision during the editorial screening process.

  2. Editorial Rights for Manuscript Adjustment

    • If a manuscript is deemed insufficiently aligned with the Special Issue scope or AI focus, the editorial board reserves the right to request manuscript restructuring or content revision to ensure alignment with the Special Issue.

  3. Author Commitment

    • Authors must be willing to revise their manuscripts in accordance with editorial recommendations.

    • Failure to comply with revision requests may result in withdrawal from the Special Issue.

    • Each submitted manuscript must include at least one international author (affiliated with a higher education institution or research organization outside Indonesia).

  4. Editorial Decision

    • All editorial decisions regarding thematic relevance, scope alignment, and publication eligibility are final and binding.

📑 Formatting and Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must follow the author guidelines and template of Jurnal Alibbaa’.

  • Accepted languages: English, Arabic, or Bahasa Indonesia (academic style).

  • All submissions will undergo desk review and double-blind peer review.
