Using an experimental design with an experimental group that underwent dhikr therapy and a control group that did not receive intervention, this study measured changes in social anxiety using the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS) before and after the intervention. The results of the Wilcoxon analysis showed that the experimental group experienced a significant decrease in social anxiety with a Z value of -2.81 and p <0.05, while the control group did not show a significant change (Z = -0.577, p > 0.05). Dhikr therapy is effective in reducing social anxiety in students, both in terms of avoidance and anxiety. These results are in line with the theory of religious psychology and mindfulness, which shows that dhikr practices can calm the mind and increase emotional stability, helping individuals manage anxiety in social interactions. This study supports the application of dhikr therapy as an effective approach to reducing social anxiety in Islamic boarding schools.
2025-08-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Arizona, Andika Ari Saputra, Fattah Hanurawan, Nur Hidayah, Muslihati, Mei Sarri, Nurkumalasarihttps://ejournal.uinmadura.ac.id/index.php/educons/article/view/19650School Counselor Self-Advocacy: The Role of Local Cultural Values of Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge2025-09-03T11:28:56+07:00Astinahastinah@iainpare.ac.idNurul Fajrianinurulfajriani@iainpare.ac.idNasrianiAninasriani177@gmail.comDuprianidupriani01@gmail.com
The role of guidance and counseling teachers is often marginalized within the institutional structure of schools. Therefore, developing self-advocacy grounded in local cultural values becomes a strategic means of enhancing the legitimacy and effectiveness of counseling services. This research aims to explore the self-advocacy practices of school counselors at SMPN X in Parepare City and to analyze the application of local cultural values—sipakatau, sipakalebbi, and sipakainge—in strengthening guidance and counseling services. The data collected using a qualitative approach with a case study method through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The research involved three guidance counselors with more than five years of experience, supported by principals, teachers, students, and parents. Data analysis was conducted through the processes of transcription and coding of interview and observation data. The data were then analyzed thematically to identify meaningful patterns and relationships. The validity of the research findings was ensured through data triangulation, as well as the implementation of member checking and peer debriefing procedures. The findings show that self-advocacy enables BK teachers to expand their roles through communication and active collaboration with school stakeholders, which impacts the strengthening of counseling services. Self-advocacy grounded in sipakatau helps foster respectful interactions among students, teachers, principals, and parents; sipakalebbi enhances social relationships through appreciation and respect; and sipakainge ensures the effectiveness of preventive guidance through mutual reminders. These findings affirm the importance of integrating self-advocacy and local cultural values in creating inclusive and socially relevant counseling services. This study is expected to contribute to the development of culturally grounded counseling theory and practice adaptable across various school contexts.
2025-08-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Astinah, Nurul Fajriani, Nasriani, Duprianihttps://ejournal.uinmadura.ac.id/index.php/educons/article/view/19831Adversity Quotient, Religious Spirituality, and Career Adaptability: An Empirical Study on Masters Students of Islamic Religious Education2025-09-03T11:28:57+07:00Nurma Millatinanurmamillatina@gmail.comRahmat Azizrahmataziz@gmail.comIndah Aminatuz Zuhriyahindahaz@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the effect of Adversity Quotient (AQ) on Career Adaptability (CA) and to examine the role of Spiritual Religious (SR) as a moderating variable in this relationship. The scope of the research focuses on students of the Master of Islamic Education (MPAI) program at the State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, who are facing academic challenges and preparing for careers in Islamic education. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach. The sample consisted of 164 students selected using total sampling technique. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square(SEM-PLS) method via SmartPLS 4. The results showed that AQ had a positive and significant effect on CA (β = 0.683; p < 0.001). However, SR did not have a significant direct effect on CA (β = 0.066; p = 0.175), nor as a moderating variable (β = 0.070; p = 0.180). Simultaneously, AQ and SR explained 47.1% of the variance in CA. The study concludes that AQ is a key factor in shaping students' career adaptability, while SR serves more as a source of internal motivation rather than a statistically significant predictor. This research recommends strengthening students’ personal resilience through psychological and spiritual approaches within Islamic education.
2025-08-20T07:10:54+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Nurma Millatina, Rahmat Aziz, Indah Aminatuz Zuhriyahhttps://ejournal.uinmadura.ac.id/index.php/educons/article/view/15568Emotional Awareness In Syiah Kuala University Students2025-09-03T11:28:58+07:00Khairiah Asfaruddinkhairiahfkip@unsyiah.ac.idNurhasanah Nurhasanahbunurhasanah1@gmail.comWildania Wildaniawilda2622@gmail.com
Emotional awareness in early adulthood, especially among college students, is a critical component of psychosocial development that can affect academic success and adjustment in the campus environment. This study aims to determine the level of emotional awareness among students at Syiah Kuala University. This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive research design. The population in this study consisted of all students at Syiah Kuala University, totaling 28,004 students. The sample size was 398 students, determined using a simple random sampling technique, with the number of samples calculated through the Slovin formula at a 5% error rate. Data were collected using the Emotional Awareness Questionnaire (EAQ30), which consists of 30 statement items. The collected data were then analyzed using the percentage formula. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, it was found that most students (62%) have a level of emotional awareness in the moderate category, while 31% of students fall into the high category, 4% into the low category, and 2% into the very high category. Analysis by aspect shows that the “Analysis of Emotions” has the highest value (48%), indicating students' ability to analyze and understand the causes of their emotions. This is followed by “Attending to Others' Emotions” (39%), which reflects the ability to empathize and understand the emotions of others, and “Differentiating Emotions” (32%), demonstrating a good ability to distinguish between emotions. In conclusion, on average, Syiah Kuala University students exhibit good emotional awareness, indicating a positive potential for facing emotional challenges.
2025-08-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Khairiah Asfaruddin, Nurhasanah Nurhasanah, Wildania Wildaniahttps://ejournal.uinmadura.ac.id/index.php/educons/article/view/18908Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Role-Playing Techniques to Enhance Emotional Intelligence and Empathy2025-09-03T11:28:58+07:00M. Zuhdi Zainul Majdizainulmajdi930@gmail.comZainul Holilzainulholil@gmail.comDesti Ekawatidestaeka@gmail.com
Intelligence is the ability to acquire and use knowledge in order to solve problems and adapt to the environment. A person's high intelligence should be accompanied by high academic ability as well, but in reality, high IQ does not necessarily guarantee high academic achievement or learning outcomes. At most, IQ contributes about 20% to the factors that determine success in life, while 80% is determined by other factors including emotional intelligence. This explains that a person's success is not only influenced by intellectual intelligence but also by emotional intelligence. Individuals with emotional intelligence are able to monitor their feelings well, and they can control their emotions, one of which is having a high level of empathy. Emotional intelligence is the ability of an individual to motivate themselves and persevere in facing frustration, control impulsive urges, which are urges that arise based on mood, and delay gratification, regulate their mood so that it does not affect their ability to think and empathize. The purpose of the research is to determine the effectiveness of rational emotive behavior counseling using role-playing techniques to enhance emotional intelligence and empathy. This study uses a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study, totaling 14 people, were divided into 2 groups. The sampling method used is purposive sampling. Data were collected using emotional intelligence and empathy questionnaires. Data analysis used MANOVA statistical tests. The research results show that rational emotive behavior counseling using role-playing techniques is effective in enhancing emotional intelligence and empathy.
2025-08-20T07:18:32+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 M. Children with this condition require intensive and continuous care, which often leads to burdens for parents in physical, psychological, social, and financial aspects. Although caregiving burdens are commonly associated with mothers, fathers also face complex challenges in daily caregiving roles. This study aims to explore the dynamics of caregiving burden experienced by fathers of children with this condition. A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was used to understand the subjective experiences of five fathers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, then analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings revealed that fathers experienced caregiving burdens across physical, psychological, social, and financial domains. Participants also employed coping strategies such as accepting the child’s condition and managing emotions adaptively. Support from spouses and families played an important role in alleviating these burdens. These findings highlight the importance of acknowledging the father’s role in caregiving and the need for comprehensive support for both parents.
2025-08-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Tria Fita Mei Linda, Mimbar Oktaviana, Satiningsihhttps://ejournal.uinmadura.ac.id/index.php/educons/article/view/20479The Effectiveness of Group Counseling with Behavioral Contract Technique to Reduce Online Game Addiction of Students at SMA Negeri 1 Wuryantoro2025-09-03T11:29:00+07:00Roshanda Meyla Fatihahroshandamf@gmail.comMahmuddah Dewi Edmawatimahmuddah@gmail.com

This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Wuryantoro with the intention of finding out how good the behavioral contract strategy is in group counseling to reduce student addiction to online games.
