This study was conducted in response to the low level of students’ opinion expression skills, as identified through a preliminary study and interviews with the school counselor at SMPN 4 Pamekasan. The findings indicated that many students experienced difficulties in expressing their opinions clearly, confidently, and respectfully during classroom activities and group interactions. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group guidance using a snowball game technique based on Ca' Oca' Madhurâ in improving students’ opinion expression skills. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one group pretest posttest design. The participants consisted of ten students selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. Data were collected using an opinion expression skills scale that met the required standards of validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using a paired samples t test, which yielded a t value of −5.533 (|t| = 5.533) with a significance level of p < .001. Since the significance value was lower than .05, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Furthermore, the analysis revealed a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.75), indicating a substantial difference in students’ opinion expression skills following the intervention. These findings indicate that group guidance using the snowball game technique based on Ca' Oca' Madhurâ was associated with improved opinion expression skills among students at SMPN 4 Pamekasan and may serve as an innovative and culturally relevant guidance intervention in school settings.
